[04/21/2010] Facebook, Microsoft Partner on 'Docs' Sharing Feature

So you like Google Docs, or you like Office more. Now, what about Microsoft Docs? If you are a Facebook user, you can now test drive Facebook Docs, powered by Microsoft. Is it gonna be a Google Docs killer?

Try Facebook Docs http://docs.com/ and see if you like it. Don't forget to check out the new features (Drawing and Form) in Google Docs! Then you can compare them.

In this generation, everyone has facebook. Facebook is a great social networking site, which connects family, friends, relative, future employeers, colleages, and business partners. I think Facebook Docs. is a great idea to share documents. Instead of having the hassle of searching the recipients email address and attaching the word document (or powerpoint, excel) to the email, one can find the recipient by searching through their friends list on facebook. We are more likely to be friends with a person on facebook than to have their email address. Another advantage is opening a message, without going through the hassle of compatibility issues. One can send a powerpoint through facebook, without worrying if the powerpoint doc is compatible with the recipients computer. I think facebook docs is a great idea, since I use facebook more often than I check my email. Since, one can sit in their office and chat with colleages on facebook, their facebook is on most of time while they are at work. So, a person at work is more likely to reply to a message through facebook, than through their email. And one can also, check what is going on in everyone's lives through facebook, when they are bored at work. So I think this is a great idea.

i like the idea of facebook doc but i would much rather use Office rather than google docs or this new idea of facebook doc. to me office is just more professional.when people think of powerpoint they think of microsoft office and not google doc. i never used google docs before i was in this class and after using it i still prefer office. it is more crisp.

Facebook is currently the most used social networking site by our generation (90's kids). This mean that most people out age already have an account with Facebook, which means this is less work for the students. For students to be able to use Facebook to work on assignments, while also having the option of sending their collaborators instant messages, or even regular messages. Facebook Documents may eventually be the new GoogleDocs but i believe with all trends, it will pass just like the others and there will be something new just around the bend. Lets just say by the time i finish college their will be more applications for educational purposes that are better than any of these current options. Thats what is so great about these technological advancements, they are making education with more options.
